Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect: your email address and a securely hashed password (if you create an account); your IP address (used to enforce free-tier daily limits if you're not logged in); the text, links, or photos you submit for checking; and standard technical data like browser type, via cookies described below.

2. How we use it

We use this data to: operate and secure your account; enforce free and paid usage limits; send your submitted content to third-party AI and detection services (Google Gemini, OpenRouter, NewsAPI.org, Sightengine) to generate a result; and process Pro subscription payments through our payment partner.

3. Third-party sharing

We share submitted content with the AI/data providers listed above, solely to generate your result — not for their own unrelated purposes, though their own privacy policies govern how they handle data once received. We share payment details only with our payment processor, which acts as merchant of record for Pro subscriptions.

4. Data retention

Account records are kept while your account is active. Anonymous free-tier usage is tracked by IP address for a rolling 24-hour window only. Photos you upload are sent for analysis and are not intentionally retained by us beyond what's needed to return your result.

5. Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you logged in (a session token). We don't currently use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
