Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Fact Checker (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service does — and does not — do

Fact Checker uses AI models and automated signals (source search, AI-generation detection, and similar tools) to produce a credibility score and findings for text, links, and photos you submit. This is a research aid, not a guarantee of truth or falsehood. Results can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated. You are responsible for your own judgment before sharing, publishing, or acting on anything based on a result from this Service.

3. Accounts

Some features (Pro plan, detection history) require an account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when signing up.

4. Plans, credits, and billing

The Free plan is available without payment or signup, subject to the daily credit limits shown on our Pricing page. The Pro plan is a paid monthly subscription billed in advance. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees are processed by our payment partner and are generally non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to: violate any law; attempt to bypass usage limits or security measures; upload content you don't have the right to submit; or use the Service's outputs to knowingly spread misinformation you know a result has flagged as fabricated.

6. Third-party services

Delivering results involves sending your submitted content to third-party AI and data providers (including Google Gemini, OpenRouter, NewsAPI.org, and Sightengine) for processing. Their own terms and privacy practices also apply to that processing. Payments are handled by our payment processor, acting as merchant of record.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, and its underlying software are owned by Fact Checker's operator. You retain ownership of content you submit; by submitting it, you grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the Service to you.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fact Checker's operator is not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violation of these terms, or for any other reason, at our discretion.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
